The major programs of the Animals category includes:
- Disease control and eradication
- Maintaining the state’s animal disease-free status
- Inspection and testing of animals, milk and milk products approval and inspection of dairy and beef waste systems
- Inspection and licensing of dairy processing facilities and various other animal agriculture facilities
- Enhancing the viability of rural communities by providing leadership in managing Idaho’s natural resources and assistance in resolving rangeland management issues.

Idaho's warehouse and seed industries store and market a wide variety of commodities such as wheat, barley, oats, dry edible beans, peas, lentils and a number of other diverse seed crops grown in Idaho.
ISDA Weights & Measures responsibilities and services include statewide:
- Inspection of accuracy and suitability of Commercial Weighing and Metering Devices
- Inspection of Packaged Products to ensure net contents meet labeled weight, volume or count
- Investigation of short delivery and misleading advertising
- Monitoring of Octane Labeling

ISDA Launches Social Media Campaign Recognizing the growth in consumer use of social media tools, the Department has launched several sites including facebook, flickr, twitter and youtube.
