1 - Farmer-Chef Collaborative - Moscow, ID

6 - Eastern Idaho Farmers Market Workshop, Pocatello , ID
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is partnering with Three Rivers RC&D to provide training for markets in the areas of marketing, promotion, and business planning. There will also be break-out sessions with topics specific to markets managers and vendors. This workshop will be held at the Newberry Building in Pocatello on Saturday March 6 from 8:30am - 4:00pm. 8 - Exporting Wine to Asia: The Do’s & Don’ts, Boise, ID
Wine is an ever increasingly popular beverage and countries around the world that traditionally are not wine cultures are beginning to enjoy a glass. Taiwan and Hong Kong are just two of these markets that are taking notice of wine. ISDA and the Idaho Wine Commission are hosting a seminar featuring Idaho Asia Trade Office Manger, Eddie Yen on the export opportunities in Taiwan and Hong Kong. 10-12 ANTAD 2010 – Guadalajara, MX
ANTAD is the largest retail and supermarket trade show in Mexico with over 15,000 trade visitors. In 2009, a total of 42 U.S. companies participated, reporting $18.5 million in12-month projected sales. The Mexican market is growing rapidly and demanding high quality products making ANTAD one of the best ways to introduce your products into the market. Foodservice Promotion Program, Idaho
One of the fastest growing trends in the food industry is to eat locally. Idaho Preferred has designed a program to assist Idaho restaurants who use local products on their menus. The Foodservice Promotion Program provides funding to help restaurants reprint menus or advertise their restaurant’s use of local products. 17-30 Food and Hotel Asia, Singapore , and 2 Outbound Trade Missions, Outbound Locations TBD
The Idaho and Hawaii Departments of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA), will be coordinating participation at Food and Hotel Asia, April 20-23, 2010, as well as two trade missions in conjunction with FHA. Each mission will include one-on-one meetings with importers and buyers, opportunity to show product samples, market briefing, and an overview of retail and/or food service sectors in the market. 5 -World Trade Day Conference, Boise , ID
The Idaho Export Council is sponsoring an annual seminar in conjunction with World Trade Day. The conference will be held at Boise State University and will include a range of export topics.

The Idaho State Department of Agriculture in conjunction with WUSATA will be coordinating participation at SIAL China May 19-21. SIAL China provides opportunities for food and agriculture companies to enlarge their market in China, enhance their international visibility, create new networking contacts and learn about latest trends. SIAL is the biggest international foodshow event in China. The 11 th edition of SIAL China will take place in Shanghai New International Expo Centre. 11-19 Idaho Governor’s Trade Mission to China
Governor Otter will lead an Idaho trade delegation to China with stops in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. China is Idaho’s 3 rd largest export market and is an important market for Idaho’s export companies. China’s GDP is expected to grow 7-8% in 2009 and trade and investment potential in China has remained strong despite the global financial crisis. Food ingredients are in huge demand in Asia, and FI Asia is the region's leading food ingredients event. This show will provide exhibitors the opportunity to meet the key suppliers and buyers of food, natural, and health ingredients in this dynamic market. The Idaho Department of Agriculture together with WUSATA will sponsor a menu promotion in Taiwan. An Idaho chef will travel to Taiwan for the purpose of training chefs in the preparation of Western U.S. products for the restaurants’ menus.

Nov 1 – Dec 31 Yellow Onion Promotion, Mexico
The Idaho and Oregon State Departments of Agriculture in cooperation with the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA) will conduct a Yellow Onion promotion in retail chains throughout Mexico. This promotion has helped raise awareness of yellow onions from 5% - 50% over 6 years. Yellow onion exports to Mexico have increased substantially during the same time period. TBD - South China Food Promotion, Macau , China
The Idaho Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Western United States Agricultural Trade Association (WUSATA), Product Showcase/Reception in Hong Kong, a Chef Program in Macau and a Product Showcase/Reception in another growing South China city – possibly Shezhen, Guangzhou or Zhuhai . The receptions and product showcases will be attending by chefs, food and beverage managers, importers and distributors. The chef program will feature food ingredients from the Western US.
