Meet the Staff

Laura M. Johnson - Bureau Chief
Laura joined the Market Development Division in 1991. As Section Manager she oversees the division’s domestic and international programs and serves as the Department’s Legislative Liaison. Laura is a 1996 graduate of Leadership Idaho Agriculture. In 2005, she received a “40 under 40” recognition by American Food and Ag Exporter Magazine as one of 40 individuals across the country under 40 with significant contributions to agricultural exports. In 2007, she was recognized by Produce Business Magazine as one of the nation’s “40 Under 40” young leaders in the produce industry. She is currently a member of the Meridian FFA Alumni and is a past Idaho FFA State President. She received a bachelor's degree in marketing from the College of Business at Boise State University in 1990. Prior to joining the Department, Laura was a Marketing Assistant at Les Bois Park. She enjoys horseback riding, snowmobiling, golf, camping, hunting and most importantly her daughter Taylor.

Leah Clark - Trade Specialist/Idaho Preferred®
Leah joined the Market Development Division of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture in May 2004. Leah works on the Idaho Preferred® program conducting retail, foodservice, education and public relations promotions to increase consumer demand for Idaho food and agriculture products. Prior to joining the Idaho State Department of Agriculture, Leah served as the Executive Director of the Idaho Beef Council for 15 years. She has a Bachelors degree in Agribusiness Management from Arizona State University and a Master of Agriculture degree in Marketing and Finance from Oklahoma State University.

Amanda Gibson - Trade Specialist
Amanda Gibson joined the Idaho State Department of Agriculture in June 2011. Amanda is responsible for ISDA’s market development initiatives in Mexico, Latin America, Canada, and Western Europe as well as the management of Idaho’s Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. She provides oversight for the State of Idaho’s Trade Office in Mexico, and coordinates numerous market activities in Mexico including outbound missions, foreign trade shows, in-market promotions, and inbound buying delegations. Through these international activities, Amanda helps companies identify markets with demand for their products, determine requirements and barriers for trade, and find qualified trade leads and business contacts. She is also the backup to ISDA’s legislative liaison on all trade policy issues. Amanda’s professional background includes one year working in logistics in Spain and more than six years managing a service offered to Idaho’s construction industry. In the spring of 2012, Amanda earned the Certified Global Business Professional certification. Amanda holds a Master of Global Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BBA in International Business, a BBA in Finance, and a BA in Spanish from Boise State University.

Skylar Jett- Trade Specialist
Skylar joined the Market Development Division in 2010 as the international intern and in 2011 was hired on full-time. She has spent the last four years working on the Idaho Preferred® program. Skylar is a graduate from Boise State University. She studied International Business and Spanish with minors in Economics and Latin American Studies. During her studies at BSU, Skylar was able to live and go to school abroad in Spain and Germany. She is excited to continue to work on promoting Idaho products both domestically and now internationally.

Pam Graviet - Trade Specialist
After receiving a Bachelor's degree in International Business/Marketing from San Francisco State University and a Master's in Public Administration from California State University Stanislaus, Pam spent her career developing and executing business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing strategies in both dometstic and international markets. Most recently, she managerd her own company helping California wineries find avenues into the export marketplace. This was after several years handling marketing and public relations for California's 10th largest family-owned winery, where she was the recipient of Beverage Dynamics' annual Advertising & Promotions Award for packaging and driving a nationally known wine brand to receive the Impact "Hot Brand" award in two consecutive years. Prior to that, Pam spent a few years in the high-tech industry with Intel Corporation, and a few years in the public sector marketing the commercial and residential energy efficiency programs at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. Pam now lives in Eagle, Idaho with her son who is a junior at Eagle High and her daughter who is a sophmore at Boise State.

Chris DeWolf - Office Specialist 2
Chris is a native of the Magic Valley, moving to the Treasure Valley in 2001. Chris has extensive office experience as well as customer service and publication creation.
